Nature of Practice

My Practice of psychotherapy is mainly with adults, and some adolescents. Most of the patients I see suffer from various emotional problems, such as depression, stress and anxiety, or relationship problems. Psychotherapy is not primarily about specific problems, important though they are, but has more to do with how one’s problems are experienced, understood and dealt with individually. We all have some degree of emotional struggle and ways of protecting ourselves against emotional pain, but sometimes this is not effective enough. When these troubling emotions are examined and discussed in an atmosphere of acceptance and professional understanding, it is often possible to find more realistic and gratifying personal resolutions.
